The $64 Tomato

I LOVE this book. “The $64 Tomato, How one Man Nearly Lost His Sanity Spent a Fortune, and Endured an Existential Crises in the Quest for a Perfect Garden,” by William Alexander, only had one flaw. I hungered for the dishes that he and his wife brewed from their huge kitchen garden. And guess what? No recipes were included. But there is a happy ending to the story. If you go to his website, he gives the recipes there—and so much more.
William Alexander is a fantastic writer—funny, down-to earth, intelligent, and I gotta say it—SEXY! Any man who admits to a certain randiness from garden chores, or from a woman’s garden-dirt encrusted fingernails, well, he’s alright by me. You don’t have to be a gardener or a cook to appreciate this man’s journey. I could not put it down.
