Today is our event at New Dominion Bookstore in Charlottesville and it’s raining and raining—just coming down in droves. Mike says they get more customers at the restaurant when it rains. I wonder if that’s true about bookstores. I can’t imagine a better way to spend a rainy Saturday morning than in a bookstore.
I tossed and turned last night. I guess I’m a little nervous about this event. I don’t remember being nervous for my first book’s events. This is different. I don’t want to let anybody down, especially Ten Speed. So, I feel a little pressure, along with some excitement. Will people actually come and want to talk to me about this book that I’ve been working on for four years? Will they buy a copy or two?
One good thing is that Charlottesville is a book town. Folks there appreciate books, writers, and writers trying to sell their books. Also, I sense (and have been told) that there’s a great deal of interest in Mrs. Rowe’s Restaurant there.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
