Here’s the info I sent out this morning to local papers about the Book Festival. I am really excited about this.
The Thirteeenth Annual Virginia Festival of the Book, March 21-25, 2007
—Organizers of the 13th Annual Virginia Festival of the Book (March 21-26, 2007) have announced that Mollie Cox Bryan, author of “Mrs. Rowe’s Restaurant Cookbook: A Lifetime of Recipes from the Shenandoah Valley” (Ten Speed Press), is participating in a five-day celebration of literacy and literature produced annually in Charlottesville by the Virginia Foundation of the Humanities.
“I am honored to be asked to participate in the festival this year. I am sure Mrs. Rowe would have been proud so many people are so interested in her life, business, and food, “ says Bryan.
Bryan, a Waynesboro resident and family columnist for the Daily News Leader in Staunton, is an award-winning writer and poet. Her book has received national attention and reviews in magazines like Saveur and Country Living, along with newspapers and radio stations across the country.
Bryan will appear on a panel “Comfort Food” Specialty cookbooks, Saturday, March 24 at 4:00 at Barnes and Noble in Charlottesville. Other cookbook panelists will be Kendra Bailey Morris, “White Trash Gatherings,” Virginia Lee, “An Eyeful of Trifle, Britain’s Best Dessert,” and Lonette Parks (Sisler), “The Mason Jar Cookie Cookbook.”
