National Pie Championships on the Food Network

According to a press release from the National Pie Council, you can catch the National Pie Championships on the Food Network on Sunday, Sept. 13, 8 p.m. EST, Monday Sept. 14, 3 a.m. EST, and Wednesday, Sept. 16, 7, p.m. EST

The show follows four professional pie makers as they go to Celebration, Florida,
to compete in the 15th Annual APC/Crisco® National Pie
Championships.   Over 120 pies will be created, vetted and judged,
but only one pie will be worthy of being named "Best In Show."
The grand prize winner earns $5,000, as Sears Kenmore range and national
bragging rights.

Pie makers from
across the country are invited to compete in next year's APC/Crisco® National
Pie Championships on April 23-25, 2010 at Omni Championsgate.
Future participants are asked to sign up at www.piecouncil.org to receive entry
forms when they are available.  Visitors to www.piecouncil.org can also sign up
to receive applications to be a volunteer or pie judge.

I'll be tweeting along with Sunday's championship. So, check me out on Twitter and let's watch together.  Special thanks to Monica Bhide for bringing this to my attention.

    Mollie,
Great to meet you today. My mouth is already watering over those pies, which I’ll have to learn to cook as a Virginian by adoption! Now all I need is a rolling pin.

    Hey!
Yes, it was really nice meeting you. I’d love to hear more about your time in Paris–and your pie-making adventures.
