i mollie, i run · July 29, 2010

Five things I thought about during my morning run:

1. Pie. Mmmmm.
2. A fox crossed my path. Startling.
3. The girls are so excited about going to Sherando Lake. You'd think
they've never been before. Emma packed lunches last night. This morning
the first thing she said :"We need to make the sandwiches…"
4. About two weeks until school starts and I'm determined to make them
good. I've been staying close to my computer in case I might get work in
from my proofing gig–but there has been very little work coming in.
Usually I try to take most of the summer off to spend quality time with
the girls. I pare down the queries and do very little writing. I hit the
ground running when they go off to school. Sometimes it works. But not
last summer–I was promoting the pie book. I dragged them everywhere
with me. Was huddled in my office on phone/radio interviews while they
played.
5. So, anyway, if you email me or send me a message and I don't get back
right away, I'm off with my girls and will get back to you soon.
