Mollie Cox Bryan

i mollie, i run · August 10, 2010

Five things I thought about during my morning run:

1. The mountains are invisible. That haze means we're in for a hot and humid day.
2. I need to find some pine nuts for pesto. I love to make a lot of it
and eat it on pasta, bread–with tomato sandwiches. This year, I want to
make a pesto-pizza. Inspiration: Shenandoah Pizza.
3. Talked to my Dad yesterday about the old family recipe for green tomato sandwich spread. Blog update on that soon.
4. Going to the city pool–it will probably be the last pool day of the
summer for us. We've not been very often at all this year.
5. I think Beatrice is my favorite character in my mystery series. In
Scrapbook of Shadows, (the second one, which I am working on now) she is
83, a new grandmother, and has had an affair with a much younger man in
Paris. She's been a widow for over 20 years. I'm trying to resolve that
affair now. Would a 60-year-old Parisian gentlemen pick up his life and
move to the small Southern town that Beatrice calls home? Hmmm.
