Do you like cozy mysteries? Feast your eyes! (All photos taken by Morgan Elwell.)
Last Sunday, Fountain Books, Richmond, Va., and my publisher, Kensington Publishing, partnered for a Cozy-Con event in Richmond, Va. Attendees paid $10 for brunch and were allowed to choose one book, along with given a bag of goodies for Kensington.
Readers lined up in advance of the event. I like this shot because you can glimpse the beauty of this part of Richmond. Check out those cobblestone streets.
Readers love these kind of events. It’s great to get a chance to meet a writer whose books you’ve been reading–or to meet a new-to-you author. The readers who came to this event spent some time with their favorite favorite Kensington authors. It was very cool for all of us.
From a writer’s perspective, well, I can’t speak for everybody, but I am grateful that people read my books, let alone come out to meet me. It’s exciting. We sit behind our computer screens most days and are not sure readers are reading our books, unless we see the reviews or a reader drops a a note to us. To actually spend time with readers? The stuff of dreams!
I’m sorry if you missed this event. But Kensington is doing two more Cozy Mini-Cons. You can check them out here. I won’t be at any of those events, but so many other wonderful authors will be.
I just think this a a fabulous way for readers and writers to connect. The venue is small and intimate and we get to know one another and have loads of fun. Thanks to Kensington and Fountain Books! Well done!
